Museum launches discovery series

The University of Alaska Museum of the North will launch a new series of free public presentations this month.
The Museum Discovery Series will feature a different curator each month unveiling new discoveries based on research in the museum鈥檚 collections. The presentations will be held in the museum auditorium on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.
This year鈥檚 series includes the following presentations:
- Jan. 22, 鈥淯nveiling Alaska Dinosaurs: Discoveries and Insights into Ancient Life in the Arctic,鈥 by Pat Druckenmiller.
- Feb. 5, 鈥淎laska鈥檚 Marmots: Known Knowns and Unknown Knowns,鈥 by Link Olson.
- March 12, 鈥淎laska鈥檚 Butterflies, Beetles and Bees: Documenting the Biodiversity of the North,鈥 by Derek Sikes.
- April 23, 鈥淐limate Change and Human Land Use in Ice Age Alaska,鈥 by Ben Potter and Josh Reuther.
