Summer Sessions is hosting a variety of lectures, movies and concerts this week. All events will take place at the Murie Building Auditorium unless otherwise noted.

Wednesday, July 17
5:30 - 6:30 p.m. 鈥 Family Fitness Wednesday: An evening filled with family fun, this week play kick ball with a giant over-size ball. The challenge is to kick the ball across the field, join us at the Student Recreation Center.

7 p.m. 鈥 Discover Alaska Lecture: 鈥淥il-eating Microbes of Alaska鈥 with Dr. Mary Beth Leigh, UAF professor of biology.

Thursday, July 18
7 p.m. 鈥 Film: 鈥淲aiting for Fidel" (1974). This feature-length documentary from 1974 takes viewers inside Fidel Castro鈥檚 Cuba. 58 min.

7 p.m. 鈥 Concert: "Opera Fairbanks Orchestra Brass."  A brass ensemble lead by James Bicigo on the trombone and Karen Gustafson on a trumpet, along with several members of the Opera Fairbanks Brass will play along to create a trio to a quintet. The concert takes place at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
