鈥楪reatest Love of All鈥 tribute to Whitney Houston presented as first spring MSU Lyceum Series performance

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斘蘧∽试床杉 State鈥檚 performing arts series, the Lyceum Series, presents 鈥淭he Greatest Love of All,鈥 starring Belinda Davids in a Feb. 15 tribute to late pop singer Whitney Houston鈥攐ne of the best-selling recording artists of all time. Showtime is 7 p.m. in Lee Hall鈥檚 historic Bettersworth Auditorium.
Featuring Houston鈥檚 Grammy-award winning music, the concert also will showcase a six-piece live band and dancers to accompany Davids鈥 inspiring vocals.
Davids has performed a tribute to Whitney Houston since 2013 when she auditioned for Showtime Australia鈥檚 live concert 鈥淭he Greatest Love of All,鈥 beating over 15,000 other auditionees for the starring role. Critics have applauded the South African vocalist鈥檚 stunning resemblance to the late singer鈥檚 sound as she tours across the globe, celebrating Houston and her legacy.
Houston is the only artist to have had seven consecutive number-one singles on Billboard鈥檚 Hot 100, including 鈥淪aving All My Love for You鈥 and 鈥淲here Do Broken Hearts Go鈥 from her first two albums in the 1980s, among the best-selling of all time. In 1992, she made her acting debut in 鈥淭he Bodyguard,鈥 but is most remembered for her rendition in the film of 鈥淚 Will Always Love You,鈥 which became the best-selling single by a female in music history.
Individual tickets are available to the general public at $30 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. MSU students may enter for free with valid student I.D. Purchases can be made at and at the door, if available.
