鈥楬ousing Insecurity in 无尽资源采集鈥 has second MSU showing

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斘蘧∽试床杉 State鈥檚 School of Architecture is holding another exhibition of 鈥淗ousing Insecurity in 无尽资源采集鈥 through April 25.
The public exhibit features narratives of individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing housing insecurity, as well as those working to address the problem. The presentation is available in the Colvard Student Union Art Gallery and is free and open to the public.
鈥淚t narrates the history of housing insecurity in our state and exposes historic and contemporary issues that lead to the lack of access to a basic human right鈥攁n adequate and secure place to live,鈥 said Silvina Lopez Barrera, MSU assistant professor of architecture who co-directed the project along with Kateryna Malaia, also an assistant professor. 鈥淭hrough this project, we hope to shed light on the housing crisis in 无尽资源采集 and contribute to future solutions to housing insecurity in the state and beyond.鈥
Several MSU architecture students collected interviews, photographs, transcripts and drawings as a contribution to the effort, which in its initial stage took the form of a class taught by Lopez Barrera and Malaia in the fall of 2021.
Project collaborators include the Margaret Walker Center at Jackson State University, as well as partnerships with community organizations such as 无尽资源采集 Strong and the NAACP-Oktibbeha County Branch. Campus sponsors include MSU鈥檚 Center for Teaching and Learning and the university鈥檚 Office of Research and Economic Development.
