STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥From 鈥淗otel California鈥 to 鈥淟ife in the Fast Lane,鈥 fans of the legendary 鈥70s rock band Eagles are set to enjoy a night of hit singles and deep tracks from the 无尽资源采集-based Disco Stranglers this month.

Borrowing their name from an iconic song off 鈥淭he Long Run,鈥 Disco Stranglers is part of MSU鈥檚 78th annual Lyceum Series, performing at 7 p.m., Oct. 17, at Lee Hall鈥檚 historic Bettersworth Auditorium.

Known for their start-to-finish cover of the classic 1976 album 鈥淗otel California,鈥 band members bring an authentic Eagles sound to every performance, which features steel, acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, keyboards, bass and drums. The group was founded by and features numerous members with Mississippi State ties, including Jerry Carnathan, Bill Cooke, Bob Damm, Drew Diekmann, Raymond Miller and Dale Robertson.

Tickets are $30 for the general public, $25 for MSU employees and $10 for children. Purchase them at . Students can attend for free by reserving tickets through the site or picking them up in person at the Center for Student Activities, located in Suite 314 of Colvard Student Union.

Additional Lyceum events scheduled for 7 p.m. in Lee Hall鈥檚 Bettersworth Auditorium include:

鈥擟hristone 鈥淜ingfish鈥 Ingram, Dec. 3. In collaboration with Music Maker Productions, Clarksdale native and global blues sensation Kingfish performs at MSU for the first time, following two previously postponed visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kingfish has toured across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He has quickly become known as the defining blues voice of his generation.

鈥擜iley II, Feb. 11. One of America鈥檚 most celebrated dance companies, Ailey II combines the spirit of energy of the country鈥檚 best young dance talent with the creative vision of Artistic Director Francesca Harper, offering a fresh take on the legacy of acclaimed choreographer Alvin Ailey.

鈥擲onic Escape, Feb. 26. The flute and violin duo, founded by Shawn Wyckoff and Maria Kaneko Millar, reimagines classical music鈥檚 greatest hits. Known for their stage presence, Sonic Escape has performed at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and more.

鈥擟anadian Brass, March 18. With more than 135 albums and 24 combined Grammy and Juno nominations, Canadian Brass is among the world鈥檚 most revered brass ensembles. Performances blend classical favorites with jazz, opera and contemporary selections, including works by Joni Mitchell and Drake.
